How it works

1. Paste a URL

We fetch the page like a search-engine crawler would.

2. 19 checks run

Titles, indexing rules, social tags, structured data, content depth and more.

3. Get your score

A weighted 0–100 score with pass/warn/fail detail and concrete fixes.

What we check

Nineteen checks, grouped the way search engines think about a page. Each one tells you what we found, why it matters, and exactly what to change.

Titles and descriptions

Your title tag is the headline in search results and the meta description is the pitch under it. We check both exist and sit in the length ranges that avoid truncation, and that the page has exactly one H1 with a clean heading outline beneath it.

Indexing rules

A page nobody can crawl cannot rank. We read your robots.txt, look for a sitemap, confirm the page is not marked noindex, and verify the canonical URL is absolute so ranking signals are not split across duplicates.

Social previews and structured data

Open Graph and Twitter card tags decide how a shared link looks in chat apps and feeds. JSON-LD structured data makes the page eligible for rich results. We check all three are present and well-formed.

Content and links

Thin pages struggle. We count the visible words, measure text against markup, and review the link profile: how many internal and external links there are and whether anchor text says something useful or just “click here”.

Mobile and security

Google indexes the mobile version of your page first, so a viewport meta tag is not optional. HTTPS is a confirmed ranking signal and browsers flag plain HTTP pages as not secure.

Speed and Core Web Vitals

The full report adds Google PageSpeed Insights data for the page: the performance score plus Largest Contentful Paint, Cumulative Layout Shift and Interaction to Next Paint, rated against Google’s own thresholds.

Questions

Is the free scan really free?
Yes. Paste any public URL and you get the score and the six core checks with no account and no card. The limit is five scans per day per visitor, or twenty if you sign in.
What does the full report add?
All nineteen checks with a specific fix for each failed item, plus Google PageSpeed and Core Web Vitals measurements. It is a one-time purchase for that scan, not a subscription.
Do you scan the whole site?
No. SEOFlag analyses one page at a time — the URL you paste. That keeps scans fast and lets you check exactly the page you are working on. Run it on your homepage, a landing page and a blog post to compare.
Will fixing everything guarantee rankings?
No tool can promise that. These checks cover the on-page fundamentals search engines expect; getting them right removes obstacles, and then content quality and links decide the rest.
